This 1,500 m2 luxury apartment occupies a full floor of a residential tower in Beirut with sea and mountain views. The apartment is designed with as an open plan layout to maximise distant views and to generate a large entertainment and social area which is flexible space and can be reconfigured into various arrangements. This space could be intimately subdivided for the family or maximised for large celebratory gatherings. This main social space is located north, where apartment would benefit from the best views to Beirut’s main harbour. Its ceiling is clad in embossed and perforated mirrored stainless steel to visually enlarge the height of the space. The kitchen located adjacent to it, is separated by a glass wall, so that during a large social gathering the entire space can be opened up.
In order to provide identity to the rest of each programme elements (kitchen, dining, bedroom, office), but to also allow the open plan to flow as one continuous space, each programme element is given its unique material and colour. The wall of the circulation core located centrally in the apartment is clad with a golden corrugated glass panel. It stretches along the length of the main reception room, as well as other rooms throughout the apartment, such as the kitchen and the bedrooms. The bedrooms are externally clad in glass laminated with a fabric inner-layer. Each bedroom is clad with a different colour to make them distinct from one another.
